Davis Webb Came off the bench late in the game against TCU, as a freshman, and calmly completed three of his four passes including the game winner to Bradley Marquez. Pressure is nothing new to Webb, who’s led Texas Tech to a win over West Virginia and nearly won one on the road at Oklahoma, showing his confidence in himself in both of those games.

Webb admits to stirring it up during games, when he’s feeling it, but its due to the hard work he puts in prior to game day that allows him to act that way.

“I practice like I'm number two on the depth chart, I work my butt off like I'm number three on the depth chart, but when I play I'm number one on the depth chart,” Webb said. “Just having that confidence whenever I get to play football in front of 50, 60 100,000 fans, you know, that’s what coach Kingsbury gives to you.”

Coach Kingsbury, said when Webb gets rolling he doesn’t have to try and reign him back in.

“No, I let him have his fun with it, and do his thing, you don't want it to get a penalty, as long as he's under that line,” Kingsbury said. “He's competitive, and our team feeds off that."

Webb had the fifth highest quarterback rating of any freshman QB in the last 10 years.
