Deadly Weekend Crash Blamed on Speed & Alcohol, Clovis PD Says

Clovis Police on Monday said “speed and alcohol are factors in the collision” that killed Andrew Padilla, 22, near the intersection of 7th Street and Marlene Boulevard.
CLOVIS, NM -- Clovis Police on Monday said “speed and alcohol are factors in the collision” that killed Andrew Padilla, 22, near the intersection of 7th Street and Marlene Boulevard.  Police identified the driver and owner of the car that crashed as Tylan Bolden, 20. 

Police said Bolden was “was traveling at a high rate of speed” and lost control.  Padilla was ejected from the car and pronounced dead on the scene.

A written statement said, “No charges have been filed, but the [police department] is working in conjunction with the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.”
