The investigation, led by the DPS Criminal Investigations Division (CID), began in August 2012. On March 8, 2014, a Young County grand jury indicted 30 defendants for engaging in organized criminal activity. Authorities continue to search for the four remaining indicted defendants.
CID agents, assisted by other agencies, searched three properties Tuesday in Young County and also seized approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine and two firearms.
Other agencies involved in the investigation include the Texas Highway Patrol, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Young County Sheriff’s Office, Jack County Sheriff’s Office, Graham Police Department, Olney Police Department, Southwest Cattle Ranger’s Association and the 90th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
