LUBBOCK, TX -- The Texas Department of Public Safety released details on two deadly crashes over the weekend. DPS said Lawrence Scott Johnston, 50, of Shallowater was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle on F.M. 179 south of Shallowater. DPS said his bike went into the oncoming lane of traffic and then into a bar ditch. Johnston’s bike also hit a tree.
The time of the crash was not released but officials found the wreckage Saturday at 8:00 am after his family reported him missing.
In an unrelated incident DPS said Alfredo Arriaga, 59, of Lubbock over-corrected his 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck went into a bar ditch and rolled several times according to DPS. The location was along County Road 1200 a little less than three miles northwest of Wolfforth. DPS said Arriaga was not wearing a seat belt.
