DPS Trooper Seizes over 22 pounds in Meth

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Wednesday on IH-40, yielding over 22 pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $816,000.

AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Wednesday on IH-40, yielding over 22 pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $816,000.

 

At approximately 6:30 p.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 1995 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.

 

The driver of the Corolla was identified as Leonardo Moreno-Aguilar, 26, of Sunnyvale, Calif. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered liquid methamphetamine in plastic containers.

 

Moreno-Aguilar was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, to Charleston, S.C.
