“My grandson called me and said my son has been shot,” said Edwina Silva. “I don’t know why someone would commit such a crime.”
Family members described Robert Silva as someone who would always have your back.
“He was my life. He was still my son,” Edwina Silva said.
Robert Silva left behind two sons and a daughter. The mother of his sons, Diana Lopez, said her kids are heartbroken by the loss.
“He was just a people person and would help anyone,” Lopez said. “He’s never going to do anything with his sons anymore like he used to, and it's not right that somebody took his life away.”
Mann was taken into custody Tuesday after a traffic violation. With her was a 28-year-old man who had been a part of the altercation, according to a police statement. Silva’s family wondered why that man has not been taken into custody. As of Thursday afternoon, Snyder police had not released updated information about the investigation.
Mann was held Thursday in the Scurry County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
