Former San Angelo City Employee Charged With Theft

In her former position as Property Manager in the City’s Real Estate Division, Diana Farris was accused of taking eight customer cash payments between September of last year and May of this year.
SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo city employee has been accused of theft between $1,500 and $20,000 from the city. Specifically, officials estimated the amount to be approximately $8,000.

In her former position as Property Manager in the City’s Real Estate Division, Diana Farris was accused of taking eight customer cash payments between September of last year and May of this year according to the San Angelo Police Department.

Police said Farris took the cash payments, and provided the receipts.  But she never actually deposited the money.

San Angelo Police Chief Tim Vasquez said it was easy to track Farris’ involvement.

"These investigations can be very, very difficult. We were fortunate that the auditor did all that he needed to do.  That allowed the case and the investigation to move along very, very quickly," continued Vasquez.

Vasquez said Farris was fired in May after working for the city for at least five years.
