WOLFFORTH, TX (PRESS RELEASE) -- For the fifth year in a row, Frenship Independent School District has received from the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program the highest-possible award level for its financial transparency efforts, and this year marks a new milestone as the district is a recipient of the inaugural Platinum Seal Award for financial transparency in 2014.

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs enhanced the Leadership Circle program in 2014 by adding the Platinum Seal Award and spotlighting entities that meet an even higher standard of financial transparency.

After a four-year run (2010-2013) of receiving the highest-level Gold Seal Award, FISD joins the inaugural class of Platinum recipients. FISD earned the Platinum Seal Award by scoring 22 of 22 possible points on the Comptroller’s ratings criteria.

According to their website, the Comptroller of Public Accounts launched the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program in December 2009 to recognize local governments across Texas that strives to meet a high standard for online financial transparency. The organization spotlights those local governments that open their financial books to the public, providing clear, consistent pictures of spending, and sharing information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers easily drill down for more information.
