IT'S A ROOM, FULL OF HOPE...
AND A PLACE, WHERE KIDS CAN FORGET -- AT LEAST FOR A LITTLE WHILE -- ABOUT BEING SICK.
It's the one place to get out of the rooms and play and have that escape. :04
BUT EVEN A MAGICAL PLACE LIKE THIS, NEEDS SOME SPRUCING UP.
GRANT GASSAWAY IS THE OWNER OF SPIRIT HALLOWEEN STORE IN LUBBOCK.
We give them costumes, and toys and games... and just fill their room up. :04
HE'S WORKED WITH COVENANT FOR THE LAST 4-YEARS, HELPING KIDS CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN.
BUT NOW -- HE'S MAKING SURE KIDS CAN CELEBRATE *EVERY DAY.
THE STORE'S BEEN COLLECTING DONATIONS...
There's no middle man, no fees involved... just literally, every single dollar that came through is right here in this check.
AND THIS WEEK, SPIRIT HALLOWEEN DONATED THE MONEY.
$11-THOUSAND, 660-DOLLARS -- TO RENOVATE LINDSEY'S PLAYROOM.
We are so excited to get to spruce that up with the money that we got today. :04
KATIE REED SAYS TO EXPECT LOTS OF BRIGHT COLORS, ACTIVE TOYS, AND ENDLESS IMAGINATIONS.
It's our job to keep kids happy and distracted from the hospital. And that's pretty hard to do when you have limited space. And it really opens up our options to be able to get kids out of their room... to give parents a break... and really make them feel like they're not being punished for being in the hospital. We get to still go out and play and have a good time.
WHEN THE PROJECT WILL BE COMPLETED, ISN'T KNOWN.
BUT THE EXCITING PROMISE OF WHAT'S TO COME, IS ENOUGH TO MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE FOR *EVERY KID, AT COVENANT
