Julie re-joins KAMC News as evening anchor alongside Bryan Mudd. You might remember Julie from her early days as weekend anchor on KAMC.
In Austin, Julie reported for KEYE (CBS), covering everything from the State Capitol to one of the area's worst drought seasons to date. She also covered one of the University of Texas' worst football seasons to date, but that's neither here nor there.
Julie grew up in Richardson, Texas. She graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish.
In college, Julie interned in New York City for CBS where she worked primarily with the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric and The Early Show. Julie also spent a summer in London and Paris, studying journalism from the BBC, CNN International, and other European media. In Oklahoma City, she even co-produced and anchored Spanish-language segments for the local Telemundo affiliate.
she bleeds Crimson and Cream, Julie loves Lubbock and is thrilled to be back. West Texas taught her a lot -- from how to get your guns
up, to a proper hair tease.
Julie currently serves on the board of Literacy Lubbock.
Off the clock, Julie enjoys reading, attempting to walk her dog Bear, trying out new recipes in the kitchen and catching up on her marathon DVR's of HGTV. Come football season, she'll probably be that lone "Boomer" you'll hear in the crowd, so just be nice and remember... she is a native Texan, after all!
