LUBBOCK, TX --- One local business owner says he is concerned for his employee's safety after reports of a man aggressively asking for money approaches female employees going to their cars at night.
David Cea, one of the owners of Caprock Cafe, says when his employees leave from work late at night, they're supposed to leave with a manager, however that doesn't always happen.
"Its when there's few cars in the parking lot and they see this girl walk to the car by herself and they know she's got money, in her pocket. its just dangerous," says Cea.
Cea continues saying the strangers aggressively approach employees late at night asking for money, even trying to get into their cars, after they've closed the door.
"They're scared to death, I mean when you have a guy that tries to get in your car." he says. "If you look like food, you're going to get attacked. So you know you you've just got to be aware of your surroundings."
Cea says more businesses need to have a plan in place to protect their employees when leaving late at night.
"Apparently this individuals is hitting numerous businesses here in town," he says. "If they don't have a policy about making sure their employees get to their cars safely they need to have one... These are dangerous times."
Lubbock Police say if you are approached by someone asking for money near business, immediately go to that business and have them contact police.
