Lorenzo ISD Awarded Cadet Start Up Grants

Lorenzo ISD has received two grants to help start a new school based Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.

LORENZO, TX (NEWS RELEASE) -- Lorenzo ISD Superintendent, Dr. Jerrod Pickering is proud to report that Lorenzo ISD has received two grants to help start a new school based Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.

The Walmart located at Ave. Q and the Marsha Sharp Freeway, through the Walmart Foundation’s Community Grant Program, has generously awarded $500 to help the local group. The Community Grant Program provides funds to local organizations by allowing local employees the opportunity to vote on programs to which they wish to donate.

LISD is also happy to report that they have been awarded the $1,000 Leadership Grant from the Spaatz Association. The Spaatz Association Leadership Grant Program is designed to recognize and encourage the development of leadership excellence in America’s youth through financial support. Each year, the Association donates $20,000 to help support Civil Air Patrol Cadets and Units.

Dr. Pickering is excited about the new program and explains that these two grants will be instrumental is starting up the program.
