LUBBOCK,TX- The polls are closed and the numbers are in.

Lubbock had 8,288 people come out for early voting.

In this election, people are voting for city council members for districts 1,2 and 3 as well as bond elections for Frenship, Cooper and Slaton I.S.D.'s.

This is a mayoral election but Mayor Glen Robertson is running unopposed.

This is the reason Kim Davis, spokesperson for the Lubbock election office, said voter numbers might be low.

The polls will open Saturday at 7 AM and close at 7 PM.
