Lubbock High Grabs 5th Straight Win, Against Monterey

On January 24, Monterey beat Lubbock High 58-38 to move to 4-2 in district play, only to find out, an ineligible player forced them to forfeit that win. Since then Lubbock High has won three in a row, while Monterey has lost 2 of 3.

Lubbock High a game up on Monterey for second place in District 4-4A.

But it’s Monterey that comes out hot, Russell Harrison hit one behind the arc. Monterey up five early.

But Lubbock High would come storming back, Dequalin McGraw got up there and would get the foul as well. He got all three; Westerners lead 9-5 as part of a 9-0 run.

More McGraw as he rebounded his own miss and puts it back. Lubbock High went up by three and the Westerners never let up as they win easily over Monterey 61-40. So, they are as hot as anyone in 4-4A, winners of five in a row while Monterey moves into a three way tie for 3rd.
