The Lubbock Independent School District received word this morning that Lubbock High School (LHS) has been chosen by the Washington Post as one of the most challenging high schools in the United States.
Lubbock High was selected for the award because of the significant number of Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams administered there. Students who pass an AP or IB exam, can earn college credit; a significant advantage to LHS graduates in pursuing a college degree.
Lubbock High Principal Doug Young said, “We are proud to have been chosen by the Washington Post for this prestigious award.”
