Ashley Hamm, Susan G. Komen Executive Director, said the Laugh for the Cure is one of their biggest fund raising events of the year.
"We plan to raise over 50,000 dollars in net proceeds for our affiliates through this event."
The Lubbock Laugh for the Cure raises money for Breast Cancer Research and Hamm said this year they have double the laughs.
"We are bringing in a team of two comedians, Steve Mingolla who actually has some ties to Lubbock, we're thrilled to have him here with us this year, and then Munzie is our headliner and he is know for his carnival cruise line shows."
Hamm said tickets are 25 dollars and you can also buy a raffle ticket.
"We are raffling off a smoker/cooker trailer that was donated by Total Performance Trailers, it is wonderful, it's a four-thousand dollar value and we are selling tickets for ten dollars a piece or 6 tickets for 50 dollars and they are going fast so if you want raffle tickets get them soon."
You also have a chance to get a guitar autographed by Miranda Lambert and Dirks Bentley along with hundreds of other items.
"It's not just a night of comedians, we have other fund raising opportunities as well. We'll have a wonderful live auction that will take place between the two acts and then we'll have a silent auction with nearly 100 items going on during the first half as well."
Hamm said all the money from ticket sales to auction items goes back to Susan G. Komen.
"When you donate or purchase a ticket from Komen Lubbock, up to 75% of that ticket prices stays right here on the South Plains. Those fund go to support our local grant program, our local mission programs, so you are helping women right here in our 16 county surface area.
