LUBBOCK,TX-Joan Gibson is retired.

She spends her days playing with her cats, thinking about her family.

“We have a humongous family,” Gibson said.

But for the last 20 years, something has been missing.

“20 years ago, he was four years old,” Gibson said.

She is talking about her grandson Christian.

In 1994, Christian’s mother took him away and Gibson never saw him again; until last Saturday, when Gibson’s son saw Christian on Facebook.

“I would never have seen it but my youngest son Alex he is in Qatar and he saw it,” Gibson said.

Christian posted a picture on the Facebook site 'Find My Birth Parents.'

He was looking for his father, Gibson’s son.

“I looked on there and I saw it and I couldn’t believe it,” Gibson said.

23-year-old Christian Hollingsworth grew up in Lubbock,  just 15 miles from Gibson and her family.

“He was right here in Lubbock all along,” Gibson said.

On Sunday, Christian was re-united with his paternal family, and Christian got what he wanted, he got to meet his father.

“His father who has fallen on a lot of rough times, but Christian just wanted to meet him and make up his own mind,” Gibson said. “My son did come and they had a wonderful time, they really did.” Gibson said Christian already feels like part of the family.

“Whatever happens from now will happen, but we have our grandson back,” Gibson said
