(LUBBOCK, TX) - Due to the winter weather currently impacting the Lubbock area, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has postponed the Lubbock Outer Route Study public meeting that was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. today (February 4) at the Lubbock-Cooper Performing Arts Center.

"While we value the input of our citizens, we also value their safety," said Lubbock District Engineer Doug Eichorst, P.E. "Motorists should make every effort to avoid driving during today's weather but if they must, they should slow down, increase their following distance and watch out for TxDOT crews treating roads."

The meeting will be rescheduled to allow interested persons to hear route options for the proposed highway facility and provide for an opportunity to ask questions and submit comments.
