Lubbock Police located a car matching the one described in an Amber Alert Wednesday.
UPDATE: Just after 5:15 pm police said, the girl was found was found safe and a suspect was taken into custody.

LUBBOCK, TX -- Lubbock Police located a car matching the one described in an Amber Alert Wednesday. The Amber Alert said Nomei Velasquez, 15, was taken from Nacogdoches County. It listed a suspect as Juan Fabian Arenas Delacruz, 28.

The alert said, “The suspect was last seen in the city of Lubbock.”

It also said Velazquez was believed to be in grave danger. On Wednesday afternoon after 3:00 police set up a perimeter near Covenant Medical Center so that no one could come or go undetected. A car matching the suspect’s vehicle had been located near Covenant.

The car was listed in the Amber Alert as a Volkswagen Passat with a license number of DF7T507. Photojournalists at the scene reported a man was taken into custody, however police have not confirmed if it was Delacruz. There is no word late Wednesday afternoon if the girl was thought to still be in Lubbock.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office said they were notified by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office that Velazquez’ cell phone was pinged Tuesday night from the area of 19th and University Avenue with a radius of 3,000 meters – which is less than two miles.

Media reports from Kansas indicated late Wednesday that the Amber Alert in Kansas had been canceled while the Amber Alert for Texas remained in effect because reports of a cell phone pin on Velazquez' in Kansas were in error.  The cell phone ping came from Lubbock, and there is no evidence that Valazquez had been in Kansas.
