LUBBOCK, TX -- Lubbock Police are still looking for information in the July 2012 murder of 23 year old Travondrick Ward.

Police said Ward, known to family as Toby, was found lying in the street outside his home at 66th and Sherman on July 7th, 2012. He had been shot and then ran into the street.

When police arrived, they found Ward in the street and then took him to UMC, where he was pronounced dead.

"We was expecting to have the answers by that night, but still no answers," Shan McDaniel, Ward's brother-in-law said Monday night. McDaniel said he and Ward spent almost everyday together

Police said it was an unknown gunman who shot Ward near his carport outside his home, and police also said they do not know what lead to the shooting.

"He's a good person. Everybody knows how good of a person he is," McDaniel said.

Sergeant Jason Lewis with Lubbock Police said this is still a very active investigation and that they are looking for any kind of information about this case and Ward's death. Anyone with information should call the Crime Line at 741-1000 and can remain anonymous.

"Once some time has passed, people don't, they kind of stop thinking about it, and they think that maybe we've solved it, but in this case, we are still actively trying to solve the case," Sergeant Lewis said.

McDaniel said he just wants to tell Ward how much he loves him, and that they all miss him. "It'll be fresh every single day, til they bring justice," he said.
