Melissa Adan is a reporter at KLBK News and new to West Texas. She joined the team in June 2014. Born and raised in Miami, Florida Melissa is a first generation Cuban-American, who loves pastelitos and dancing. Melissa loves the friendly atmosphere of Lubbock.
She graduated cum laude from Boston University with a B.S. degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science in 2014. She has interned at CNBC in New York City for the long-form unit, as well as CBS4 and Univision in Miami.
At Boston University Melissa served as a host/reporter for the weekly live show Good Morning, B.U. She also worked as the online editor of The Daily Free Press, where she covered the Boston Marathon and was one of the first to interview now-iconic “Cowboy Hat Hero” Carlos Arrendondo. The video was posted on NBCLatino.com and footage aired in several Miami TV stations.
Melissa has a high ambition to be a national correspondent. She hopes to serve Lubbock news well and use her experience to one day serve the country.
