Mom.Me is an online site that offers advice in every step of the journey of motherhood.
Anne-Marie O'Neill, editor-in-chief for Mom.Me spoke to 9NEWS Wednesday morning. From starting a new exercise routine to teaching your kids teamwork, O'Neill talked about the website and how it offers simple tips to make your life easier.
"We deal with moms from pregnancy all the way to empty nest, because we are all moms," O'Neill said.
One tip includes fitting in some much-needed "me time." O'Neill says there are ways to put yourself first, even if it is just for five minutes.
She says routines sound boring, but they can help you have more free time.
"If you are a working mom, take your break. Take your lunch. You will find you will not only be productive later, but you'll feel better." O'Neill said.
Another tip is to delegate chores. Experts say children assigned chores from an early age grew into adults who were more successful in their careers and marriage.
O'Neill also says selling teamwork to your kids can give them a sense of empowerment and pride. She says it allows them to choose the tasks they will be responsible for completing. Some if those tasks include vacuuming, taking out the garbage, dusting their rooms, making their beds and cleaning windows.
O'Neill says moms can save their sanity and long-term health by balancing their life now so they can enjoy it and be there for their loved ones in the long run.
