Gloria Irene Mejorado, 53, was arrested for forgery and was able to bond out of jail by posting $10,000 according to the News-Press. The funeral home was the subject of a search warrant, and investigators seized records. At last check Head Duarte Funeral Home remained open, and Mejorado declined to comment, the News-Press said.
District Attorney Christopher Dennis was quoted as saying, “It [the investigation] had to do with the execution of documents surrounding the business.”
If convicted, Mejorado faces a state jail felony with a maximum two years behind bars.
