Night Hike at The Lubbock Lake Landmark

Howard Runkel with the Lubbock Lake Landmark joined KLBK This Morning's Brittany Escobar to talk about this months night hike.
The Night Hike will be on Saturday, August 9th, this is an opportunity to explore the Landmark after dark.

The hike is a 3 mile long loop along a well maintained dirt trail. There is a spot where you can turn back after a mile and cut the hike to 2 miles.

It is in the northern end of Yellow House canyon so there will be some rolling terrain but mainly it is level walk in the park.

The hike takes about an hour and a half, starting at 8:30 p.m. and finish around 10 p.m.

Lubbock Lake Landmark is a unit of the Museum of Texas Tech University.

It is an archaeological and natural history preserve that is famous for the discovery of a Folsom point which is a spear head used by people 12,000 years ago to hunt ancient bison.

The Landmark is located at 2401 Landmark Drive in Lubbock, Texas
