LUBBOCK, TX--- First announced in 1999 by Delbert McDougal, the Overton Park in North Central Lubbock has been a leading project in the redevelopment for Lubbock and continues to expand through the city.

Now the area spanning from University to Avenue Q is booming with businesses and housing developments and considered one of the biggest privately funded redevelopment areas in the country.

Additionally, the area has generated millions of dollars in tax revenue for the City of Lubbock, the Overton park and Lubbock Independent School District.

The McDougal Company hopes to see this redevelopment expand to downtown Lubbock as well in the near future.

The McDougals say there are plans to announce several new businesses that will be coming to the down town area in the next few weeks-- but they're not saying who just yet.
