Lady Raider sophomore honored after running nation’s leading 100-meter hurdle time
LUBBOCK, Texas Lady Raider sophomore Le’Tristan Pledger was honored today by the Big 12 Conference as one of three Tri-Female Athletes of the Week.
The Kansas City native got her sophomore outdoor campaign off to a stellar start at the UTSA Invitational where she clocked the current national-leading time of 13.16 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles.  Pledger secured 10 points for the Lady Raiders with the performance as the squad went on to win the meet with 197.5 points. Also honored by the Conference as Tri-Female Athletes of the Week were Ese Okoro (Iowa State) and Liz Herrs (Oklahoma).
Pledger’s time of 13.16 marked a new outdoor collegiate-best, and ranked as the third-fastest time in school history. She now carries the performance into the Texas Relays, and will compete in the prestigious invitational section of the 100-meter hurdles scheduled for Saturday at 2:15 p.m. inside Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
Pledger was a national qualifier in both the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships as a freshman.
