Statement form CPS:
"CPS is investigating the death of a 2 year old child in Post, TX. There was prior CPS history with the family. In February 2013, we opened an investigation for neglect and found reason to believe the allegations were true. At that time, there were concerns about substance abuse and poor living conditions in the home. We successfully worked services with the mother during the next 6 months and closed the case in November 2013. There are no other siblings."
