LUBBOCK,TX- Bring on the rain!
That is what the folks in Ralls said Friday as more than four inches dumped on the small town.
Everyone we spoke to said they have been praying for rain for a long time, hoping to get some relief from the drought.
Pastor T.J. Messer with First Baptist Church of Ralls said the rain is a sign of good faith.
"We just attribute this to God and don't know why we are in such a big drought, but I know this will help," Messer said.
Kevin Langdon is in the irrigation business, and even he was happy to see the wet stuff.
"We've been praying for it," Langdon said. "When you get a pump man that prays for rain, you know it is dry."
But happiest of them all had to be cotton farmer David Appling.
"It's wonderful," Appling said. "We are struggling, especially on our dry land. We hadn't had rain in so long...we just went ahead and planted and we hadn't quite got done, but this ought to finish it, give us a good start."
While too much rain can damage the newly planted crop, Appling said that does not matter.
They need the rain so much, Appling said he would not mind re-planting his crop.
