Friday night was set to be a big night for several of our area teams looking to advance in the state high school football playoffs, but for the 2nd time in 3 weeks weather played a major factor in changing up schedules. So Seagraves got the stage all to themselves. They took on the top ranked team in the state in 1A, at the Jones Stadium on Friday Night.

Seagraves came out strong and did what they did best, and ran the ball.

Cory Kyle bounced off a tackle before dragged out of bounds for a Seagraves 1st down

But that came to an end quick. Wellington’s defense stepped up and made a big 4th down stop. Wellington took over on Seagraves 45 yard line.

Wellington's kept digging. QB Klark Ashmore carried the ball for a good chuck of yard before stopped inside the 10 yard line.

That set up a 7 yard TD run by Terry Gilbreath. They added a 2pt conversion and Wellington went on top 8-0.

Seagraves knocked at Wellington’s door all night and sure enough they answered with this huge goal line stands on 4th down. Wellington got another shot.

It was a familiar hand off late in the first for a familiar touchdown, with Terry Gilbreath getting it again,

He walked it in for the touchdown. As Seagraves was never able to get anything going as they fell 52-0...
