LUBBOCK, TX-- The second phase of East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood launched this week.

Students at Dunbar College Preparatory Academy spent their Thursday morning at Texas Tech's Southwest Collection, researching East Lubbock.

The program is a $24.5 million grant awarded to Texas Tech and Lubbock ISD. The money is allocated for different sectors to benefit the community.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a promise neighborhood," said Joel Castro, LISD Associate Superintendent for Priority Campuses.
