The Shallowater Mustangs are coming off of a 35-26 win over the Vernon Lions to get to state quarterfinals for the first time in three seasons.

In Head Coach Kyle Maxfield's fifth year at Shallowater his team has claimed an unblemished district record, three playoff wins and are currently ranked 10th in the state.

An impressive season? You could say that. But it hasn't been a cake walk. The Mustangs finally beat the Monohans Loboes in the area round of the playoffs.
