A Wichita County jury began deliberating the case at 10:30 am and by 3:00 pm it convicted Raymond Slagle on all five counts against him.
WICHITA FALLS, TX -- Raymond Slagle, 66, was found guilty Tuesday on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child by contact. A Wichita County jury began deliberating the case at 10:30 am and by 3:00 pm it convicted Slagle on all five counts against him.
Two girls made claims of sexual abuse spanning five years.
On Monday Slagle waived his Fifth Amendment rights, and testified in his own defense. He told the jury even though he and one victim had spent some time alone at his home over the years. However, said he never kissed, fondled or touched her inappropriately.
Slagle had not been sentenced yet as of Tuesday afternoon. Aggravated sexual assault of a child could carry 5 – 99 years or life in prison.
