The Texas Tech Football team is just 10 days away from the start of season, and with free-time in low supply at this time of the year players do what they can to relax away from the football field whenever they get a chance.
We talked to a few Red Raiders who told us about their hobbies off the field, which were wide ranging. Big Le’Raven Clark, for example, loves to hunt and fish and work with his hands.
"I don't go out and party or anything like that,” he said, “So you can usually find me doing something -- I’ll probably be hunting or fishing, or doing some wood-work projects or something like that."
Keenon Ward can play many different sports. He said he is an avid golfer, that can shoot in the mid-80’s but can also make his presence felt on the ping-pong table.
“Usually I'm at the facility playing ping-pong trying to get better at that, I mean, I'm alright,” Ward said. “If I'm not at the facility, I'm probably at the house with my dogs, relaxing, enjoying the time-off that we do get."
Linebacker Sam Eguavoen is also a dog person and likes to play with his dog Bane, an American Bulldog he named after the Batman villain.
“Just training my dog, that's my second life right there,” he said. “I've got a big back yard, so I really do most of my work down there, training him, tug toys and that's my boy right there, Bane."
The Red Raiders will finish up Spring practice on Saturday before beginning Central Arkansas preps, on Monday.
