LUBBOCK, TX--- Special Tactics and Rescue Consulting is taking area emergency first repsonders and getting them ready for any situation to help save a life before an emergency scene is secure.
"What this course is, it is all about the right medicine being used at the right time with the right tactics," said Dr. Ryan Lewis, C.E.O of S.T.A.R.
When first repsonders arrive to a scene, the common thing is to wait until its secure before helping injured people.
"Now its about integrating all of them together that way we have this inoperability and that way we get the fastest care delivered in the most tactically sound way to these people," said Lewis.
Dr. Lewis says S.T.A.R. is helping lead that integration.
"It allows the students to function in an environment that they can not fake their way through," said Lewis.
They use an $80 thousand trama patient simulator that Lewis said is bringing emergent care into a high threat situation.
"If you don't do the treatment correct, it tells you, it tells you how much blood is lots how much time it took to get the turnicate on and whether the patient lived or died," said Lewis.
Star trains first responders all over the country. Additionally, they will train teachers and anyone who may be in a situation where urgent care is needed.
