LUBBOCK, Texas – The Red Raider soccer team continues its 2014 spring season Saturday as Texas Tech travels south to Houston for a highly-anticipated match with the Houston Dash.
First kick for the match is set for 2 p.m. at the Houston Sports Park.
Tech enters the match on the heels of a 3-0 shutout victory over West Texas A&M at the John Walker Soccer Complex on Feb. 28.
The Dash, preparing for its inaugural season in the National Women’s Soccer League, enters the match 2-0 in its preseason with victories over Rice and Texas A&M.
Three separate Red Raiders – Janine Beckie, Hannah Devine and Briana Rohmer - found the back of the net in the Red Raiders’ 3-0 victory over the Buffalos in February.
The Red Raiders won a school record 18 matches in 2013 en route to its second-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Tech shutout 17 of its 23 opponents during the regular season, while tying the Big 12 record with just nine goals allowed.
Tech ended the 2013 season at No. 17 in the final NSCAA rankings
