The Public Art Manager for the Texas Tech System, Emily Wilkinson, shows us a new public art piece that will be fully unveiled tonight, Aug. 29, at the 7 p.m. ribbon cutting.
The installation is by Joe O’Connell and Blessing Hancock of Tucson, AZ and is called “Texas Rising.”
The sculpture is made of stainless steel and colored LED lights and is touch sensitive to allow viewers to change the colors of the piece.
All of the cutouts in the sculpture are related to Texas Tech.
