Sophomore Lady Raider thrower Hannah Carson broke her own school record today at the 87th Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Carson recorded a throw of 54.03-meters (177-feet 3 inches) on her fifth attempt of the day, and finished third in the Women’s University ‘A’ Section. She bested her previous school record of 53.15-meters (174’-4”) set last week at the UTSA Texas Challenge Invitational.
It marks the second time in her decorated career that Carson has broken her own school javelin record at the Texas Relays, as she threw 52.16-meters (171’-1”) at the 2013 Texas Relays. That throw broke her record of 166’-10” set at the 2012 Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Ariz.
