DALLAS, Texas (Texas Tech Press Release)– The Texas Tech baseball program is currently fifth in the nation in overall wins (36) and today received three top-30 rankings – giving Tech 12 straight weeks in the national rankings this season.
Tech is ranked 23rd in this week’s USA Today Coaches’ poll, No. 24 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association and No. 27 in the Collegiate Baseball national poll.
Tech’s highest ranking this week – 23rd by the Coaches– gives the Red Raiders eight national rankings in the poll during the last nine weeks.
Tech received its 12th straight ranking from the NCBWA – this week at No. 23 while falling two spots in the poll from last week’s No. 21 ranking.
The Red Raiders are in the Collegiate Baseball poll for back-to-back weeks for the first time this season since the opening two weeks of the 2014 campaign. The Red Raiders moved back one spot this week to No. 27 after receiving a No. 26 spot in the poll last week.
Texas Tech will play one game this week – its final midweek game of the season and its final road game of the regular season at Dallas Baptist on Tuesday, May 6 with first pitch at 2 p.m. at Horner Ballpark.
