LUBBOCK,TX- While Texas Tech junior shortstop Tim Proudfoot stands in the infield, he can hear his name being called.

The little mouth yelling his name, is that of 3-year-old Grayson, Proudfoot's biggest fan.

"I met him at one of the games," Proudfoot said. "He just kept yelling my name, and so all the guys on the team were like do you know this guy? And I was like no, not yet."

Grayson's great-grandmother, Jann Brewer, was given 2014 baseball season tickets by her friend Bart Reagor.

So, she and Grayson went to all the games.

One day, Proudfoot caught Grayson's attention.

"First, he just stood there at the fence and watched," Brewer said. "When they would call the players by name to bat ,he would say their name and all of a sudden he started asking when is Tim Proudfoot going to bat? Where's Tim Proudfoot?"

Proudfoot started giving him high-fives, and baseballs that he would later sign; eventually calling Grayson on the phone.

Brewer said Proudfoot is one of the only people Grayson actually talks to.

"He talks about him all the time," Brewer said. "He wants to play ball with Tim."

Because Proudfoot is Grayson's role-model.

"Tim has been so good to Grayson and kids need all the role-models they can get," Brewer said.

A role Proudfoot said he is happy to fill.

"He's got a love for the game and a love for me," Proudfoot said. "Says I am his favorite player ,which is awesome to be a role model; especially for little kids that young."

Grayson will not get to go to Omaha for the College World Series, but Brewer said Grayson will be watching at home, and waiting for the team when they get back.
