Texas Tech To Host Patriotic Concert and String Chamber Concert

The Texas Tech Band Camp Honors Wind Ensemble will perform two concerts for the public, the Patriotic Concert and the String Chamber Concert.

LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) -- The Texas Tech Band Camp Honors Wind Ensemble will perform two concerts for the public, the Patriotic Concert and the String Chamber Concert.

The Patriotic Concert will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9. The String Chamber Concert is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10.

The Patriotic Concert is in the Helen DeVitt Jones Sculpture Court at the Museum of Texas Tech, 3301 Fourth Street. The String Chamber Concert is in the Kent R. Hance Chapel on the southeast corner of the Texas Tech University campus.

The Texas Tech Band Camp Honors Wind Ensemble was formed through a grant from the Helen Jones Foundation to create an ensemble made up of the best students in the state.

The Patriotic Concert features the Honors Wind Ensemble, directed by Sarah McKoin, and the Westwinds Brass Band, directed by Phil Anthony. The concert is presented in partnership with the Museum of TTU. The west doors of the Museum (facing Indiana Avenue) will open at 6 p.m.

Both concerts are free and open to the public.
