Texas Tech’s ADM Program Named One of Best for Fashion Design

Texas Tech University’s Apparel Design and Manufacturing program (ADM) recently was nationally ranked 31st out of 75 colleges in fashion design by fashion-schools.org.
LUBBOCK, TX (PRESS RELEASE) -- Texas Tech University’s Apparel Design and Manufacturing program (ADM) recently was nationally ranked 31st out of 75 colleges in fashion design by fashion-schools.org. This is the first time Texas Tech has been nationally ranked by this organization.

The website also ranked ADM fifth out of 10 fashion design schools in the Southwest. The region encompasses Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Nevada.

Texas Tech’s ADM program is part of the Department of Design, which is housed in the College of Human Sciences.

"We are proud to receive this recognition,” said Dr. Sharran Parkinson, Department of Design chairperson, “especially when you think that there are hundreds of apparel design programs at public and private schools, colleges and universities across the country.”

When ranking the programs, the website focused on academic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of the program and faculty, value as it relates to tuition, and geographic location. School surveys also were incorporated into the evaluation process.Texas Tech’s ADM program provides the key to entering the world of fashion. Students learn to create and produce their own designs, research and apply the latest trends, manage product development, apparel design or design and construct costumes.
