LUBBOCK, TX -- Texas Tech University on Wednesday morning released the surveillance video of an incident between former Red Raider football team recruit Nigel Bethel II, and Lady Raider basketball player Amber Battle.

Bethel was removed from the football team and Battle faced disciplinary action after the two had a violent altercation on June 28.  According to eyewitness accounts, Battle pushed Bethel.  He responded by punching her in the face.  A grand jury on Tuesday afternoon chose to not pursue a felony charge against Bethel.

His attorney said, “My client, Nigel Bethel II, has been cleared by a Lubbock County Grand Jury and no charges will be filed against him for an incident between he and Texas Tech Lady Raider Amber Battle.”

Bethel is no longer on the Tech campus.  At last report he went home to Miami and was making arrangements to enroll with another school.
