The boys had their second day off from camp today allowing guys like former Red Raider Will Smith rest up his hamstring. While Smith is one of two Red Raiders on the squad along with Dartwan Bush, they aren’t the only West Texans on the squad trying to make a name for themselves. There's also rookie quarterback Dustin Vaughn.

Vaughn was a three-year starter at West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas. While there, he was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2012. Last year he threw for over 4,100 yards and 38 touchdowns compared to just six interceptions.

"The main thing is improving every day," said Vaughn, "That's the main thing I need to worry about specifically is to keep getting a hold of this offense and what they expect of me as a quarterback, and they expect a lot. They expect a lot out of Tony Romo and the expectations when you come in here are high."

"So, I think that my job is just to improve everyday. It is crazy to be in a spot that you dream of as a kid, not only the Dallas Cowboys but in the NFL. Just to be playing among some of the greatest athletes in the world is an awesome opportunity and I'm definitely happy to be here."
