Texas Tech’s Dinah Goodson is making your plans for Valentine’s Day.
“Tennis is the best sport ever for Valentine’s Day because of the doubles matche,” Goodson said. “So, we’re calling it double’s date.”
Tech is inviting couples out to spend the day watching the men and women’s tennis teams.
They are giving away free food and a chance to win a Kliff Kingsbury bobble head or autographed football.
But what if you want the real thing?
“Kliff was nice enough to offer himself up for a breakfast date,” Goodson said. “So we are also going to give away breakfast with Kliff Kingsbury.”
That’s right, you could win a date with Coach Kliff Kingsbury.
All you have to do is come to the match and enter your name in a raffle.
“He’s excited,” Goodson said. “Coach Kingsbury is always great about helping other sports and helping us promote other sports. So, he is real excited about coming and hopefully meet a new friend.”
But what is about Kingsbury that drives the women wild?
“It’s that 5 o’clock shadow and that Ryan Gosling look,” Goodson said.
The athletic department said they are hoping fans will come for Kliff and stay for the team.
“Our women’s tennis team is ranked number 18 in the nation, which is great,” Goodson said. “We are back to back Big 12 champs, which I don’t know if people know that.”
The game is at 2:30 pm at the
