(LUBBOCK, TX) - He's a new realtor and new to this whole dancing thing too.
Jacoby Madewell said he wasn't exactly made to do this.
"I kind of was just volunteered, but once I was volunteered, I just kind of jumped both feet in and kind of took it," Madewell said.
Since November, he's spent hours on the dance floor at Lubbock's Dance With Me.
"We've got our whole dance down, just got to nail it now."
Madewell's preparing for his big dancing debut at Make-A-Wish's annual fundraising gala, Waltzing for Wishes.
"It was a lot harder than I expected."
While it hasn't always been easy, he said it's definitely worth it.
"No falling, just a lot stumbling over our feet, forgetting our moves is the biggest thing. If I can do this and raise enough money for a wish then great. That's one more child that I get to help," he explained.
Madewell also encouraged others to try it out.
"If you can't volunteer, get out and give your hands on, then donate a little bit of money. You know, every little bit counts and we'd like to make sure everybody knows that."
Waltzing for Wishes is Saturday, March 8th at the Overton Hotel in Lubbock.
