(LUBBOCK, TX) - They call this the season of giving and you can do just that, without ever leaving the comforts of your car.
Lubbock's Stars and Stripes Drive-In Theatre has teamed up with the Make-A-Wish foundation for one reason.
"To help grant another wish in the Lubbock area in 2014," Stars and Stripes owner, Ryan Smith, said.
According to Smith, the partnership between his theatre and the non-profit couldn't be more perfect.
He said the two have a lot in common.
"It seemed like a natural fit with us being all about making memories at the drive-in and Make-A-Wish, all the incredible memories they help people make."
The big white boards at Stars and Stripes will be featuring all the latest flicks including Walking With Dinosaurs, Frozen, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and even Anchorman 2.
If you come out to the theatre on Christmas night, ten percent of the money you spend will go straight to Make-A-Wish.
"Christmas night is, of course, a really special night for a lot of people and for my family in particular, so we just thought there's no better way to make it even more special at the drive-in than to give back," Smith said.
For Smith, pairing up with the non-profit is personal.
His wife was a wish kid.
"It was just such a great experience for her."
If you want to help out the cause, Stars and Stripes is located on the Clovis Highway, between Frankford and Quaker Avenues.
Admission is $7 per person and kids five and under are free.
The shows start at 7:00 p.m. and Smith recommends getting there a little early to get a good parking spot.
Remember, ten percent of all profit on Christmas night will go to Make-A-Wish, including tickets, concessions, gift cards purchased on Christmas day only and donations at the gate.
