(LUBBOCK, TX) - Granting a wish is a magical moment, but getting to share it with 500 people, makes it even more special.

8-year-old Taylor received her one true wish at Make-A-Wish's annual fundraising gala, Waltzing for Wishes.

Her wish marked the 8,000th wish Make-A-Wish North Texas has granted.

"I always wanted to see a dolphin and they have dolphins in Hawaii and like, it's very pretty there and you get to hula dance," Taylor said.

In February 2013, Taylor was diagnosed with stage four Rhabdomyosarcoma.

RMS is cancer of the muscles attached to the bone.

"You get to have lots of medicine and I don't like that and I have to get shots and I don't like their (hospital) food," Taylor said.

Now after 54 weeks of chemotheraphy, radiation and two surgeries, Taylor's been given a clean bill of health.

"We're just so grateful that we've made it through this year and that she's been healed," Taylor's mom, Katherine, said.

In April, the family of four is headed to Hawaii.

"I'm happy that I get to go to Hawaii because when we go there, maybe we get to have a hotel close to the beach and I'm going to collect sea shells there," Taylor said.
