The Denver City Mustangs rolled through their regular season to the tune of a perfect 10-0 record but in the first round they had to take on perennial playoff team, the Muleshoe Mules.
In the 1st quarter Mustang quarterback, Mason Milligan, deep to Irving Orona for the 42 yard gain, and Milligan would score on a keeper a few plays later to go ahead 7-0.
In the 2nd quarter now, Muleshoe was facing 3rd and 21, when Danny Campos found a wide open Austin Ross for the score to tie it up at seven.
Campos would take to the air again, but this time his arm was hit while he threw, which allowed Kaleb King to pick off the duck.
That would leads to the a Milligan seven yard keeper, to make it 14-7 Denver City, as the Mustangs would pull away with the 41-21 win.
