Two volunteer fire departments respond to a fire near Idalou.
Idalou and New Deal volunteer fire departments responded to a house fire at 12:30 Tuesday morning, in the 6000 block of East County Road 6160 near Idalou.
It appears the fire started in the attic of the home, and firefighters could see smoke coming through the roof as they arrived. They put the fire out, and we're told the Red Cross is helping the family.
The investigation continues into the cause of the fire, and no word yet on the extent of the damage.
