LUBBOCK, TX – From now until April 6 farmers can nominate a local school district for grant money from the Monsanto Company. Schools can qualify for a merit-based grant of either $10,000 or $25,000. Monsanto set aside $2.3 million in its Monsanto Fund to “strengthen math and science education in rural communities.”

The Monsanto Company granted money to five area school districts in 2013.
  • New Deal ISD $25,000
  • Dawson ISD, $25,000
  • Shallowater ISD, $10,000
  • Snyder ISD, $10,000
  • Kress ISD, $10,000

“We believe that growing the next generation begins with a strong foundation in math and science,” said Michelle Insco, Monsanto Fund program officer. “This opportunity for success begins in the classroom.”
